North Korean troops marched alongside Russian forces for the first time during Moscow's scaled-down Victory Day parade. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his country's commitment to its mutual defence treaty with Russia, which includes a mutual defence provision.
Latvian Minister Resigns After Drone Strike
Latvian Defence Minister Andris Spruds resigned after Ukrainian drones, which Kyiv claimed were deliberately diverted by Russian electronic warfare, struck oil storage tanks in the eastern city of Rezekne. This incident prompted Latvia and neighbouring Lithuania to urge NATO to strengthen air defences in the Baltic region.
Russia Criticises Armenia
Russia criticised Armenia for providing a platform for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to make "anti-Russian remarks" during his visit to Yerevan.
Ukraine Receives Seized Funds
Separately, Ukraine confirmed receiving approximately $82 million in cash and gold seized by Hungary earlier in the year. Kyiv accused Hungary's pro-Russian government of unlawful actions.
