Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Bowden Mark Richard Sugg, born on 16 March 2026. The couple announced the arrival on Instagram, sharing adorable photos from the hospital.
Following the announcement, Joe took to his Instagram story to clarify the pronunciation of his son's unique name. He wrote: 'Bowden Sugg' and added in brackets: 'Pronounced Bow like How not Bow like Row... hopefully that makes sense,' followed by a laughing emoji.
The name Bowden means 'shelter' according to baby name website The Bump, symbolising security, new beginnings, and ambition. The middle names have family significance: Mark is Dianne's father's name, and Richard was Joe's grandfather, who passed away in 2021.
The couple met on the 2018 series of Strictly Come Dancing, where they were dance partners. Their romance blossomed after the show, and they have since expressed their desire to start a family. They announced Dianne's pregnancy in September 2025 with a sweet video painting three stick figures.
During her pregnancy, Dianne faced criticism about dancing while expecting but responded with a defiant dance video, showing her doing a cartwheel. She captioned it: 'For all the people saying they can't watch a pregnant girl dance! I just can't help it when I hear the beat.' Fans praised her for staying active and inspiring others.
