Patrick Dempsey Attends BAFTAs with Daughter After Co-Star Eric Dane's Death

Patrick Dempsey was supported by his daughter, Talula Fyfe Dempsey, at the BAFTAs on 22 February, days after the death of his former Grey's Anatomy co-star Eric Dane. Dane, who played Mark 'McSteamy' Sloan, died on 20 February at age 53 following a battle with motor neurone disease.

Dempsey, 59, wore a black suit and sunglasses as he walked the red carpet with his 24-year-old daughter, who wore a simple black sheath dress. The actor is also father to twin sons Darby and Sullivan, 19, with his wife Jillian Fink.

Speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show, Dempsey paid tribute to Dane, saying: 'He was the funniest man - he was such a joy to work with. We got along instantly. There was just this wonderful mutual respect.' Dempsey added that Dane's quality of life had deteriorated rapidly before his death.

The BAFTAs, hosted by Alan Cumming, also featured appearances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul Mescal, and the Prince and Princess of Wales. It was the Princess of Wales's first BAFTA attendance since 2023, having missed the previous ceremony due to her cancer diagnosis and recovery.
