Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, star of the reality series Pawn Stars, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover medical expenses following a serious motorcycle accident in Tulum, Mexico, in January. The 42-year-old suffered 11 fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a concussion and internal bleeding, spending 14 days in hospital.
The campaign, set up by his friend Aron Chambers, has raised nearly $5,000 of its $18,000 target. Chambers described a four-and-a-half-hour journey to a cheaper hospital in Mérida, where doctors drained nearly three litres of blood from Harrison's chest and performed three life-saving surgeries, with an additional 18 days in hospital.
Chambers said Harrison emptied his bank account and friends maxed out credit cards to cover treatment. “Being on television and part of Pawn Stars fame doesn't come with a built-in safety net for emergencies like this,” he wrote. Harrison now lives in Tulum and requires ongoing follow-up care and medications.
Harrison told TMZ he is now completely removed from Pawn Stars, having not renewed his contract in 2025. He said, “I can't play another season of 41-year-old me pretending to be 23,” and noted he receives residual checks. The show concluded its 23rd season in 2025 and is on indefinite hiatus.
