Cole Hauser: From Dutton Ranch to real life with famous family

Cole Hauser, best known for playing Rip Wheeler in the hit series Yellowstone, has a family background steeped in Hollywood history. Born in Santa Barbara, California in 1975, Hauser was raised primarily on a 1,500-acre ranch near Eugene, Oregon after his parents divorced when he was two. He met his father, actor Wings Hauser, at age 15 and soon pursued acting, leaving high school at 16 to debut in the 1991 film School Ties.

Hauser's father Wings appeared in over 100 TV and film projects, while his maternal great-grandfather was Harry Warner, a co-founder of Warner Bros. His grandfather, Milton Sperling, wrote several World War II films including Battle of the Bulge. Hauser's mother, Cass, founded the production company Warner Sisters in 2003.

Hauser married photographer and actress Cynthia Daniel in 2006, after dating in the 1990s. The couple will celebrate their 20th anniversary this December. They have three children: sons Ryland (21) and Colt (17), and daughter Steely Rose (13). Hauser credits 'listening' and 'acknowledging' each other as keys to their long marriage.
