Yellowstone veteran Cole Hauser brought his wife of 20 years onto the red carpet of the Dutton Ranch premiere in New York City on Tuesday evening. The 51-year-old actor is wed to Cynthia Daniel, 50, a former actress known for her role in the teen drama Sweet Valley High, which followed the lives of the Wakefield twins during high school.
Red Carpet Appearance
Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler in the Yellowstone franchise, wore a tuxedo as he held the hand of his spouse, who was impossible to miss in a plunging short-sleeved scarlet red dress with matching pointy heels. They were accompanied by their youngest child, 14-year-old daughter Steely Rose Hauser, who wore a black outfit with white sneakers. The couple, who wed in 2006, also have two sons—21-year-old Ryland and 17-year-old Colt—but they were not seen at the event.
Other Attendees
Plenty of other Dutton Ranch stars were in attendance, such as Annette Bening, who plays the villain Beulah Jackson; Kelly Reilly, reprising her role as Wheeler's wife Beth Dutton; and Finn Little, who again plays the orphan named Carter whom Beth and Rip adopted. Martha Stewart and Brooke Shields, who do not appear to be involved with the new Taylor Sheridan series, were also guests.
The Spinoff Series
The Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch premiered on Tuesday evening. The series follows Beth and Rip as they start a new life in South Texas, leaving behind the Montana ranch to manage a new property in the town of Rio Paloma. It centers on them building a future, raising their son Carter, and navigating conflicts with a rival rancher, Beulah.
Cynthia Daniel's Career
Daniel starred on Sweet Valley High from 1994 until 1997. Based on Francine Pascal's book series of the same name, the show became one of the most beloved teen TV programs of its time. Cynthia's costar on the show was her twin sister, Brittany Daniel. The series revolved around the lives of Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield, beautiful blonde twins living in the fictitious Sweet Valley, California, and their group of friends. Cynthia played Elizabeth 'Liz' Wakefield, the quieter, more down-to-earth twin, while Brittany was Jessica 'Jess' Wakefield, the outgoing, party-loving, trendy, and wilder twin.
Life After the Show
After the show concluded, Brittany continued to act, starring in movies and TV shows like Dawson's Creek, That '70s Show, White Chicks, and more. Cynthia, however, decided to step out of the spotlight to focus on starting a family. In 2011, Brittany was diagnosed with cancer. Cynthia recalled wondering, 'Am I going to lose my sister?' Brittany underwent six months of intense chemotherapy and fully recovered, but her outlook on life changed. She said, 'I remember thinking that I had a new lease on life. I was ready to find a partner and have a child.' Unfortunately, due to the chemo, all of her eggs were diminished, so she could not get pregnant on her own. Cynthia then offered to donate her eggs. According to Cynthia, it was a no-brainer to donate her eggs to her twin sister, who she already 'shared everything with.' In October 2021, Brittany and her husband Adam Touni welcomed a daughter named Hope Rose using Cynthia's donor egg and a surrogate. Brittany said the entire room was 'bawling' after the baby was born because they all 'knew what they had been through.' Cynthia admitted, 'I wasn't sure how I was going to feel at first, what emotions would come up. But I just felt like the aunt. And that is really special.'
