Former EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison, best known for playing Heather Trott, has taken on a new role in the stage play Living The Life Of Riley. The production, which is touring the UK, features a video message from Katie Price at each performance.
The play centres on a mother whose son is diagnosed with autism, a situation that resonates with Price, whose son Harvey, 23, has autism. Price, who recently remarried, is also featured on the show's promotional posters.
Fergison's return to the stage comes after she revealed in her book that she lost £500,000 and was left penniless due to an accountant's fraud. She said: 'I’m a survivor. It’s not that I’m a glass half full person; I just know I am lucky to have a glass at all.'
The actress recounted discovering the financial ruin after leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2012. She explained that for five years, her accountant pocketed the money she thought was being paid to HMRC, leaving her juggling overdrafts, credit cards, and bills despite her fame.
Fergison also opened up about her divorce from first husband Jay Saddiqi in 2008, after suspecting infidelity. She recalled sniffing perfume on a car seatbelt, a habit that persists to this day.
