Chase Infiniti: The Rising Star Presenting at the Oscars and the Story Behind Her Unique Name

Chase Infiniti, a 25-year-old actress from Indiana, has become one of Hollywood's most talked-about rising talents after just two major film roles. She is set to present at the Oscars tonight, which air on ITV1 at 10.15pm on Sunday, March 15.

Infiniti's distinctive name was inspired by the films Batman Forever and Toy Story. Her parents, after watching Batman Forever, became obsessed with Nicole Kidman's character Chase Meridian and decided to name their baby Chase, regardless of gender. For a middle name, they chose 'Infiniti' from Buzz Lightyear's motto 'To infinity and beyond!' from Toy Story.

Despite not receiving an Oscar nomination for her role as Willa in One Battle After Another opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Infiniti has been nominated for a BAFTA, Critics Choice Award, and Golden Globe. Many fans believe she was 'snubbed' by the Oscars.

Online speculation that Infiniti is the daughter of Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn is an internet joke, stemming from their characters' affair in the political drama Scandal. The joke gained traction when Kerry Washington posted a playful selfie with her 'Scandal children' last month.

Infiniti also stars in the upcoming Disney+ series The Testaments, a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, premiering on April 8. She previously appeared in Apple TV's Presumed Innocent alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in 2024.
