Charlie Puth Reveals Eyebrow Scar Is from Childhood Dog Attack

Charlie Puth has clarified that his distinctive right eyebrow split is not a fashion statement but a scar from a near-fatal dog attack when he was two years old. The 34-year-old singer, set to perform the national anthem at the 2026 Super Bowl, first shared the story in a 2017 YouTube video.

In the video, Puth explained that a black labrador bit his face after he pulled its tail. He required 450 stitches in plastic surgery and said the incident was 'pretty scary'. Despite the trauma, he does not fear dogs but warns children not to get into dogs' faces.

Puth recalled attending court over the attack, which led to the dog being put down. He now views the scar as a 'cool little thing' and sometimes jokes that he got it from a fight. He also discussed the scar on CBS Mornings in 2024.
