Viewers of ITV's This Morning have been left wondering about Cat Deeley's whereabouts after she missed three consecutive episodes this week. The presenter, who typically co-hosts alongside Ben Shephard, has been absent from the daytime programme without an official on-air explanation.
During Tuesday's show, Shephard addressed Deeley's absence briefly, telling viewers: “Cat’s away, so I get a little playdate with Angela [Scanlon] for a few days.” Meanwhile, Deeley, 49, has been active on Instagram, posting images from a snowy location suggesting she is on holiday. However, the lack of a formal statement has led to confusion and speculation among fans.
On social media platform X, one viewer wrote: “Unsure what’s going on, but whatever reason that Cat’s not on this week has clearly caught them on the hop – made all a bit weirder when you look at her Instagram and there images of her seemingly out wining and dining the last few days.” Another commented after Alison Hammond stepped in on Thursday, asking: “Cat off again?”
Despite the online speculation, Metro understands Deeley’s absence is due to pre-planned leave. She joined the show permanently in 2024 alongside Shephard and is expected to return soon. The programme has not issued a statement regarding her time off.
This week’s absence comes after This Morning made headlines last week over Alison Hammond’s remarks about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest. While discussing the news, Hammond noted the arrest occurred on the former royal’s 66th birthday, questioning why it had not been carried out the day before. Her comment drew bemused reactions from viewers online.
