Aussie actress Cate Blanchett, aged 56, claimed the Best Actress in a Play award for her remarkable performance in The Seagull. Recalling the unconventional proposal to the Daily Mail, Hayley described the memorable moment: "My fiancé was in his pants in the kitchen, and there was an accordion playing outside our window—which was timed perfectly but not planned. We had rented this Airbnb that had lots of shelves with porcelain ducks on them, so it was quite a surreal set-up."
Ned had previously shared his joy about their engagement on social media, writing: "Lucky me. Arrived in Venice at 10am, around midday the love of my life and I got engaged in the kitchen of this strange apartment surrounded by ducks, with a bloke outside the window murdering 'My Way' on the accordion. A perfect start to the rest of our lives together."
