Michael Barrymore to Release Memoir and Move to Spain

Fallen TV star Michael Barrymore, 73, is making a comeback with a new memoir and plans to leave the UK for Spain. The former 'Strike it Lucky' host has spent two years writing an autobiography detailing his life since the 2001 death of Stuart Lubbock at his Essex home.

Barrymore, who now has four million TikTok followers, will also discuss his rise as a social media star and his new partner—a one-year-old whippet named Lara. He recently received a YouTube award for his vlog documenting his travels and daily life.

In an emotional address, Barrymore confirmed he has exchanged contracts on a house in Spain, saying: 'I am so excited. I am not going to tell you exactly where it is as I want a bit of privacy.' He cited a better quality of life and love for Spanish culture as reasons for the move.

Barrymore's career ended after Lubbock, 31, was found dead in his swimming pool following a party. A post-mortem revealed serious anal injuries, and an open verdict was recorded. In 2019, Barrymore apologised for the first time over the incident.

The memoir aims to tell his side of the story and show how he has rebuilt his life. Barrymore previously shelved a TV comeback in 2019 after an injury forced him to quit 'Dancing on Ice'.
