Apple TV has released the first trailer for Star City, an alt-history thriller starring Anna Maxwell Martin. The series, a spin-off of For All Mankind, is set in an alternative timeline where the Soviets were the first to land a man on the moon. It will premiere on 29 May.
The show explores life behind the Iron Curtain, following cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers navigating the risks of the Soviet space programme. Martin plays Lyudmilla Raskova, head of KGB surveillance in Star City, while Rhys Ifans portrays the Chief Designer.
The cast also includes Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara. The trailer hints at twists, turns, and danger.
Meanwhile, For All Mankind will return for a sixth and final season. Showrunners Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi said: “Getting to explore the For All Mankind universe over six seasons has been an amazing privilege, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to finish the story the way we’ve always hoped.”
