Angelica Camacho, who appeared in Louis Theroux's recent documentary 'Inside the Manosphere', has revealed she begged producers to remove her from the film. In a TikTok video, she said she never wanted to be part of it and only signed the contract without reading it properly.
Camacho features in the documentary as the girlfriend of influencer and podcaster Myron Gaines. Theroux is seen asking her about Gaines' belief in 'one-way monogamy', to which she replied she did not mind as long as their relationship was the most important to him.
Speaking on TikTok, Camacho said: 'I never wanted to be part of any documentary whatsoever. I was never told or asked to be in a documentary until the moment of. I was stupid enough to not read a contract before signing it.' She added that she emailed producers 'thousands of times' begging to be removed, but to no avail.
Camacho also revealed she is now in a new relationship with someone who 'cares' for her and makes her feel 'special' and 'happy'. She said she has already been through therapy and received support from friends and family.
Following the documentary's release, Theroux spoke about the importance of addressing the 'manosphere' as a father to sons. He told the Mirror: 'I think as a parent you hope that your influence will outweigh whatever they're being fed online, but truthfully they probably spend more hours looking at their phones than they do talking to us.'
