Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire shepherdess known for her life at Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, has shared a series of photos from a recent firewood-gathering venture. The images, posted on social media, show the mother of nine with her children Reuben and Edith, and fans quickly noted the resemblance between Amanda and her 17-year-old daughter Edith.
In the photos, Amanda and Edith are seen wearing matching vest tops, with long brown hair and similar smiles. One fan commented, 'Edith looks like her mum,' while another said, 'Lovely photo, you look like sisters.' A third added, 'She's a mini me of you.'
This is not the first time Amanda has been compared to her daughters. She has previously been likened to her eldest, Raven, and her fifth child, Violet. In April, Amanda shared a photo of herself with Violet, noting how independent the children have become. 'These two are so very independent,' she wrote. 'Usually behind the scenes, but of late have really stepped up to the plate.'
Amanda and her ex-husband Clive have nine children: Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy, ranging in age from 24 to nine. The children frequently help out on the farm, with the youngest, Nancy and Clemmy, even assisting with lamb deliveries this spring.
'Calmly and efficiently delivering a pair of lambs,' Amanda wrote in a post showing her daughters helping with the birth. 'The mother had been labouring for a while and was tiring so a helping hand was needed. Knowing when to sit back and watch and when to intervene is a skill learnt with experience.'
