Adam Thomas has claimed ITV “exploited” him during the final of I’m A Celebrity... South Africa, amid his ongoing feud with David Haye. The 37-year-old actor, who won the series by public vote, accused the broadcaster of taking advantage of his fallout with Haye and Jimmy Bullard during the live show.
In an emotional episode of his Thomas Bros podcast, Thomas broke down in tears, alleging that Haye “broke” him by pushing him to his limits. He described receiving a voice note from Haye after the final congratulating him, but said he drew a line and replied that he was “done” with the former boxer. Thomas insisted that what happened in camp was “bullying” and not merely banter, as others had suggested.
During the live final, Thomas was accused by Haye and Bullard of being “abusive, aggressive and intimidating”, though co-host Ant McPartlin disagreed, saying the exchange was not aggressive. Bullard claimed Thomas used “c-bombs” that were not aired. Thomas took “full responsibility” for his actions but maintained that campmates passed off bullying as banter, leaving him feeling unable to speak up.
Thomas also criticised Haye for treating the show as entertainment while he himself was not playing a character. He felt exploited by producers, saying the whole experience was “hard”. Haye is reportedly planning to sue ITV for millions over alleged “brand damage”, while fellow campmate Harry Redknapp said Haye gave Thomas “lots of stick” but that arguments are common when living together in the jungle.
