Glasgow Warriors were eliminated from the Champions Cup on Friday night, losing 22-29 to Montpellier at Scotstoun Stadium. The French side capitalised on the hosts' indiscipline, scoring two tries while Warriors players were in the sin-bin.
Glasgow took an early lead through a Finn Russell penalty, but Montpellier responded with a try from Kelian Galletier after a break by Aaron Cruden. The Warriors hit back with tries from Leo Sarto and George Turner, both converted by Russell, to lead 17-7.
However, Turner was yellow-carded for an off-the-ball tackle on Louis Picamoles, and Montpellier made the extra man count as Galletier scored his second try. A penalty try followed after Glasgow killed a driving maul, with Jonny Gray also sin-binned, leaving the Warriors trailing 19-17 at half-time.
Despite a brave effort, Glasgow could not secure the bonus-point victory needed to stay in the tournament. The defeat ends their Champions Cup campaign, with former Scotland coach Vern Cotter's Montpellier celebrating a hard-fought win.
