Katie Price's husband, Lee Andrews, is reportedly telling fellow inmates at Al-Awir prison in Dubai that his wife will send him money to fund his life behind bars. Andrews, who married Price in January just hours after meeting her for the first time, is currently incarcerated and faces a £140,000 payment for his release.
According to sources, Andrews initially asked Price to launch a GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds, but she refused, telling him that 'everyone hates you'. Now, he is allegedly boasting to other prisoners that Price will provide cash for his daily needs. Inmates at Al-Awir can purchase snacks and cigarettes using a card system called a 'punch', but upon arrival, Andrews had no money to use it.
One prisoner told The Sun: 'He was bragging that Katie was going to give him cash, but no one knows if she has or not.' However, the Mirror understands that Price is not giving her husband any money. Andrews has the opportunity to earn money through prison work such as laundry, cleaning, or sewing, but he claims to be accustomed to a life of luxury.
Despite his claims, Andrews's life in prison is starkly different from his previous lifestyle. He has had his head shaved to prevent lice, and while inmates have access to televisions and a gym, Andrews has not yet been allowed to participate in football games. Meanwhile, a fan has accused Andrews of attempting to scam people from prison, with a man claiming to be his 'business manager' asking for a £5,000 investment.
The Mirror has approached Price's spokesperson and attempted to contact Andrews for comment.
