Ryanair Flight to Spain Declares Emergency, Returns to UK

A Ryanair plane bound for Spain was forced to turn back to the UK after declaring a mid-air emergency.

Flight FR7842 departed Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) at around 7:30am this morning and was scheduled for a routine flight to Murcia (RMU), having reached an altitude of 35,000 feet.

Just over an hour into the journey, crew members transmitted a Squawk 7700 code - the international signal for a general emergency.
