Ed Sheeran has donated personal items, including handwritten lyrics to his hit song 'Perfect', to a charity auction organised with help from his parents. The auction aims to support young people in Suffolk, including redeveloping a playground in Ipswich.
Fans can bid on childhood Lego and a £3 ticket to his first ever gig in Framlingham. Other celebrities such as David Beckham, Kylie Minogue, and Usain Bolt have also contributed items. The online auction runs until 8 November, coinciding with the final day of the 'Ed Sheeran: Made in Suffolk' exhibition at Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich.
Proceeds will benefit the GeeWizz charity to redevelop a playground for children with special educational needs at Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy, costing up to £300,000. Funds will also support St Elizabeth Hospice, which helps teenagers and young adults with incurable illnesses.
John Sheeran said: 'Imogen and I send our thanks to everyone who has organised, supported and donated to the auction. We cannot think of a better legacy for the exhibition to leave.'
Other auction lots include guitars from John Mayer, Snow Patrol, and Steve Harley, as well as a Rolling Stones gold disc and signed Pink Floyd memorabilia from drummer Nick Mason.
