In a series of videos shared online, the council highlights brazen littering incidents with a withering voiceover commentary. One clip shows a woman carrying two heaped bin bags, initially placing them behind a parked car before noticing the camera and moving them into clear view. The commentator remarks on the strange behavior, questioning her actions.
Multiple Incidents Captured
Other footage reveals the same woman, identifiable by her grey vest and black trousers, returning with more bags. In another instance, a man is seen dragging a fold-up bed across a road and abandoning it in a car park. The voiceover sarcastically notes, 'Repeat after us, car parks are for vehicles, not beds.'
Further videos depict a woman in a dressing gown and slippers assisting a man in dumping an old mattress by the roadside. The commentator poses pointed questions: 'Were you not cold in a dressing gown? Why do you no longer need the mattress, and did you not know about our bulky waste collection?' Additionally, two men are recorded leaving a fridge behind a fence on Hartlepool Road.

Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader of Coventry City Council, emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean city. He stated, 'Ensuring that our city is a fantastic, clean place for everyone who lives, works, and visits it is a top priority for us. Every day, our officers, residents, community groups, and businesses work incredibly hard to keep our city clean, and the actions of a few people spoils that.'
He made it clear that fly-tipping is unacceptable, vowing to use all available powers to stop it and prosecute those responsible. Councillor Khan also encouraged the public to come forward if they recognize anyone in the videos, urging community cooperation in tackling this issue.
