ASDA Drivers Reveal 4 Customer Types That Must Be Stopped
ASDA Drivers: 4 Customer Types Must Be Stopped

Delivery drivers for ASDA, one of the UK's largest supermarket chains, have voiced their frustrations with certain customer behaviours, calling for immediate changes to make their jobs easier. In a candid discussion on Reddit, drivers outlined four types of customers that they believe need to be stopped.

Missing Door Numbers

One driver highlighted a common issue: "People not having door numbers. Don't order stuff if you don't have a door number." Another driver added, "You'd be surprised how many people don't have door numbers. You can sometimes go down 6-7 houses without a number." This lack of clear identification slows down deliveries and causes unnecessary delays.

Unpacking During Delivery

Several drivers expressed annoyance when customers begin unpacking their shopping while the driver is still present. One driver said, "If I can hear you putting the shopping in your cupboards/fridge/freezer, it's so frustrating. I have a regular customer who orders 1.5 totes of shopping and I'm there for 15 minutes every week." Another Reddit user commented, "People do that? We just grab enough shopping bags for everything and bring it into the kitchen after the driver's gone." This behaviour extends the delivery time and disrupts the driver's schedule.

Early Weekend Slots

Drivers also criticised customers who book early morning delivery slots on weekends. One driver remarked, "People who have an early morning slot at a weekend and you have to knock them up out of bed. Have a later delivery!" Waking customers up can lead to awkward interactions and delays, especially when the customer is not ready to receive the order.

School and Nursery Deliveries During Drop-Off

Deliveries to schools and nurseries during peak drop-off times were another major pet peeve. One driver exclaimed, "Why the f**k do nurseries and schools order a delivery between 8-9 am the same time as drop off?" Another driver agreed, saying, "Deliveries to schools when they book a slot between 8-9am and my ETA is 8:45am. Book a 10-11am slot so I'm not being slowed down by the school rush!" These time slots create congestion and make it difficult for drivers to navigate busy areas.

The drivers' comments shed light on the everyday challenges faced by delivery staff and highlight simple changes customers can make to improve the delivery experience for everyone.
