Venezuela Fury's Wedding at 16: Why It Was Allowed on the Isle of Man
Venezuela Fury's Wedding at 16: Isle of Man Rules Explained

Venezuela Fury's wedding to Noah Price has captivated public attention this weekend, but many have questioned how the ceremony was legally permitted given the bride's age of 16. The daughter of boxing champion Tyson Fury tied the knot at the Victorian Royal Chapel of St John's on the Isle of Man, wearing an Italian lace gown with a 50-foot train. She walked down the aisle in Crocs and sunglasses, with the Notorious B.I.G hit 'Juicy' setting the mood for the celebration.

The wedding comes a year after the couple became engaged during Venezuela's birthday. Reports indicate that the teenager will move out of the family home into a static caravan with her new husband, following the same tradition her parents pursued before achieving fame.

Why Was the Wedding Allowed?

In England and Wales, the minimum age for marriage was raised from 16 to 18 in February 2023, abolishing the option to marry at 16 or 17 even with parental consent. However, the wedding took place on the Isle of Man, where the Fury family relocated earlier this year due to security concerns at their previous home in Morecambe. On the Isle of Man, the legal age for marriage is 16 with parental consent; those over 18 do not require consent.

Family Support

The Fury family has consistently defended their decision. On 'This Morning', Paris Fury stated: 'Venezuela is so mature for her years. She's done so much in such a short time just because of who she is and the fact that she's got six younger brothers and sisters that she's helped bring up, I can't deny her. I was 17 when I got engaged. She's obviously following in my footsteps, so how can I judge her? I know she's young, but I think she's found the person she loves, and if she's happy, I will completely support her.'

Wedding Details

Paris looked elegant as mother of the bride in a sky blue dress and hat, while Tyson wore a black tuxedo. Venezuela opted for white Crocs, which she had earlier debated on social media, choosing comfort over traditional heels. She told fans: 'I'm having a bit of a struggle on what shoes to wear. Do I wear white New Balance trainers or white Crocs? I don't know. Or, maybe I wear blue Crocs? I'm not sure.'

The reception featured a father-daughter dance to 'My Girl' by The Temptations and a performance by 1990s pop icon Peter Andre, who sang hits including 'Mysterious Girl'. However, the event took an unexpected turn when four police cars reportedly sped to the Comis Hotel near Douglas on the Isle of Man.

The wedding is reportedly being filmed for the family's Netflix series, 'At Home with the Furys'.
