Prince Harry has been urged not to make an appearance at this year's Trooping the Colour, as many members of the Royal Family are set to attend the event this week. The historic day, held annually to mark the monarch's official birthday, is one of the biggest events in the royal calendar and will take place on Saturday, June 13. The King and Queen will lead the procession and appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside fellow working royals.
Having lived in the US since 2020 and no longer considered a working member of the Royal Family, Harry has not attended the event for several years. In a poll conducted by the Daily Express, royal fans were asked whether Harry should make his first appearance since 2019. Of the 4,910 people who voted, a staggering 4,687 voted that Harry should stay away. Just 205 people voted that he should attend, while 18 said they 'don't know' what he should do.
Public Opinion and Comments
Many fans took to the comment section to express their views. One fan commented: 'Absolutely not!' Another added: 'No! He's no longer an active member of the Institution, so his presence at this event is unnecessary.' A third reasoned: 'I don't think Harry should attend Trooping The Colour as he stood down from royal duties.'
Upcoming UK Visit
The Duke of Sussex is set to travel back to the UK next month for the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games. It remains unknown whether his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will join him.
