Today, on the tenth anniversary of MP Jo Cox's tragic murder, The Mirror calls for the nation to engage in dialogue. A decade later, Britain remains deeply divided, with elected officials facing ongoing threats. Recent summers have seen anti-migrant hatred erupt in Belfast, Glasgow, and Southampton, echoing the circumstances of Jo's killing and fueling hostility against innocent families.
Britain Talks Returns
The Mirror announces a new version of 'Britain Talks', a groundbreaking conversation project set to launch in September. This initiative will continue from where the National Conversation, currently active across the UK, concludes. In today's Mirror, Jo's widower Brendan Cox and Katie Amess, daughter of murdered Conservative MP David Amess, share a conversation to kickstart the project.
How to Participate
Mirror readers and all willing to step away from division are invited to sign up. Participants answer a few questions about their worldview. Using unique technology developed by partner Die Zeit in Germany, each person will be matched with someone holding different views. For now, sign up with an email address to receive updates on the project's progress and new civil society partners. Your email will not be used for marketing—only for the Britain Talks newsletter.
This is your chance to become a founding member of a community dedicated to reclaiming the real country from extremists and building bridges instead of walls. Join us. We need to talk.
