Sleep Deep Patches Review: Do They Stop 3am Wake-Ups?
Sleep Deep Patches Review: Do They Stop 3am Wake-Ups?

Suzannah Ramsdale's sleep has been shaky since her son was born two years ago. She became hyper-alert and could be jolted into consciousness by a whisper two rooms away. The danger zone is 3 am, when she often woke up and could not get back to sleep.

How the patches work

What's That Patch is a clever concept. Science-backed ingredients are administered through the skin overnight to get directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system that pills and powders must navigate. The brand has patches targeting everything from longevity to productivity, but it was the Sleep Deep ones that called to her.

Ingredients and results

The patches contain a cocktail of snooze-inducing ingredients: honokiol, apigenin, oleamide, PEA and magnesium. Ramsdale reports she has not had a 3 am witching hour since she began patching up. The effect is cumulative, with the power on sleep intensifying. A monthly subscription costs £19, which she considers a steal for supplements.

Potential drawback

Ramsdale's only gripe is with the patches themselves. Although the adhesive is said to be hypoallergenic, when she peeled the patches off each morning they left a red circle behind, which sometimes lasted for days. She advises sticking the patch somewhere concealed by clothes if you have sensitive skin.
