Shopper Reveals How to Get Free Food, Drinks, and Cosmetics on Your Birthday
Shopper's Birthday Freebie Tricks: Free Food, Drinks, Cosmetics

A savvy shopper has revealed how to get a haul of free flowers, food, cosmetics, and treats using a simple trick that anyone can use. Cissy Jones, 29, from Manchester, celebrated her birthday this month by making the most of a range of birthday freebies, managing to bag everything from lunch to luxury beauty items for free.

How She Did It

By signing up to 'birthday freebie' schemes ahead of her big day, Cissy was able to eat and shop for free as she made the rounds collecting her birthday perks. She enjoyed a Pizza Express pizza worth £15 for lunch, then headed to Krispy Kreme for a free doughnut worth £2. She also bagged a bunch of roses from M&S that usually cost £4, a free caramel latte from Starbucks valued at £4.20, and a Boost smoothie worth around £8 – all completely free. At Space NK, she managed to get her hands on night serum, lip balm, and a travel-size perfume.

Tips for Maximising Birthday Freebies

Cissy recommends signing up at least a month before your birthday. “I do it every year,” she said. “It’s something everyone can do each year. It’s super easy and super fun, especially if you live near a shopping mall because everything is in one building.” She advises checking terms and conditions carefully, as redemption windows can vary. “Some are on the day, some are three days before and three days after, and some can be a month long.”

She also warns that not all deals are completely free. Rituals required her to purchase a full-price item to receive free mini fragrance sticks, while Lindt asked her to spend £10 to unlock a complimentary box of chocolates worth £6.50. “Just make sure you read the terms and conditions with how long you have to claim,” she added. “And sign up well before your birthday. I can’t imagine this works if you sign up the day before.”
