Maybelline has launched a new tubing version of its best-selling Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, promising longer-looking, lifted lashes with improved staying power and effortless removal. The 'Sky Tubes' formula, priced at £8.80 on Amazon, wraps each lash in lightweight, flexible tubes that resist smudging, flaking and transfer, and can be removed with warm water alone.
Five IndyBest testers trialled the mascara on a range of lash types, from short and straight to thick and curly. For droopy lashes, the tubing formula held curl well, adding half a millimetre of extra length. One tester noted that the mascara disguised lash shedding from a previous serum, and appreciated the inclusion of shea butter and castor oil for lash health.
Another tester found the brush long and bristled, capturing every lash for a fluttery, doe-eyed look. While the formula was slightly clumpy, the black pigment had impressive impact, and lashes felt soft after use with no irritation. Removal was simple: a warm water compress and two swipes of a flannel removed all traces.
However, one tester with thick lashes found the formula unable to provide the same curl as higher-end mascaras, though it dried quickly and didn't budge during the day. Overall, the Sky Tubes mascara offers a significant upgrade in ease of removal while maintaining the lengthening and lifting qualities fans expect.
