White socks can be hard to keep clean, especially in summer when sweat stains build up. Benjamin Thery from Cyber Techwear suggests using lemon juice as a natural solution.
Why lemon juice works
Lemon juice contains citric acid, which breaks down sweat and dirt. When socks are dried in sunlight, the citric acid reacts with ultraviolet rays to create a bleaching effect, whitening the fabric.
How to wash white socks with lemon juice
Place socks in a basin of hot water with a generous amount of lemon juice. Soak for at least two to three hours, or overnight. Then wash normally with detergent and hang outside to dry in the sun.
