Katie Holmes, the 36-year-old global ambassador for Olay, has shared the beauty secrets behind her famously youthful complexion. In an exclusive interview, the former Dawson's Creek star opened her makeup bag to reveal the staples she relies on for her flawless look.
Her daily routine is surprisingly simple: mascara, lip gloss, and concealer from Charlotte Tilbury or Chanel. She tends to stick with nude and light pink shades, but for red carpets, she enjoys experimenting with bold red lips or smoky eyes. 'I make bolder choices on the red carpets,' she said.
For her radiant skin, Holmes emphasises exfoliation and hydration. 'I regularly exfoliate and hydrate my skin as often as I can,' she said. She also drinks plenty of water and exercises. When working long days, she uses Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Cream Wash and the Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Age-Defying Moisturiser to keep her skin soft and smooth.
Holmes also shared her hair care routine, using Alterna Haircare Caviar CC cream to maintain her glossy brunette locks. 'I often need a really good treatment to help maintain my hair's strength,' she explained, due to frequent blow-drying and straightening for work.
One of her favourite beauty tricks is applying white eyeshadow to the inner corners of her eyes to brighten them. Despite her busy schedule, she remains adventurous with her red carpet looks, recently sporting a 1920s Hollywood style. 'I don’t mind taking risks, but I always want to look and feel like it’s still me,' she said.
