As a beauty enthusiast, I adore face masks. The idea of a treatment that delivers visible results with minimal effort—simply applying it while relaxing—is my ideal beauty routine. Plus, the temporary horror-movie look adds a fun twist. So, when I learned about Mediheal's latest innovation, I was eager to test it out.
Introducing Mediheal's New Gel Masks
Mediheal, a renowned Korean skincare brand celebrated for its award-winning masks, has launched a new range. Instead of traditional fabric sheets soaked in serum, these masks are crafted from gel infused with active ingredients. The concept is simple: apply the mask, wait two hours, and let the ingredients absorb deeply into your skin.
The range includes two options:
- Hyper Hyaluronate Mask: Priced at £38 for a pack of 10, this mask promises long-lasting hydration and a glass skin effect by delivering a full bottle of hyaluronic acid.
- Hyper Collagen Low Molecular Liposome Mask: Also £38 for 10, it aims to minimise pores, refine texture, and boost elasticity, plumpness, and radiance with a full bottle of collagen.
I opted for the collagen mask to target anti-aging concerns.
The Application Experience
The gel texture is unique—imagine a custard with a skin-like layer on top. It holds together well but can tear if handled roughly. Initially, it feels slippery and thick, with cool, soothing sensations upon application. The mask comes in two parts with removable sections for eyes and mouth, allowing flexibility for daytime or overnight use.
Wearing it for two hours is required until it turns from opaque to clear, indicating full absorption. While comfortable for the first 90 minutes, I grew eager to remove it by the end. Note: pets might find your appearance unsettling during this time!
Results After Use
Among the many masks I've tried, this one stands out. Unlike typical masks that offer only temporary pep, the effects lasted over 24 hours. My skin felt firmer, plumper, and more radiant. Fine lines were smoothed and softened, though pore reduction was minimal—a slight disappointment given the claims.
At £38 for 10 uses (£3.80 per mask), it's an investment, but the lasting results justify the cost for those seeking serious anti-aging benefits.
Overall, I highly recommend the Hyper Collagen Mask for its impressive, long-lasting hydration and radiance boost.
