I'm A Celebrity star Gemma Collins has opened up about her experience with weight loss injections, describing them as 'life changing' but noting they also led to a gallbladder attack. The 45-year-old TOWIE icon, currently appearing on the South Africa All Stars series, shared her story during Thursday night's episode while discussing the rise in use of such jabs.
Collins, who previously revealed she used Mounjaro injections, said she lost 8kg while on them. She told campmates at Savannah Scrub: 'It is life changing, you can't believe how amazing it is. You don't think about food.' She recalled a meal with fiancé Rami Hawash where a bread basket was placed on the table. 'Do you know how weird it was for me to sit there, have the bread in front of me? It was liberating,' she said.
However, Collins stopped using the jabs after experiencing severe pain. She said: 'I ended up going to 15mg. That is when I got the pain… I'm big anyway, I could lose 3st and not look different… What works for you and you doesn't work for me.' Collins also confirmed that Hawash loves her 'for exactly who she is'. The couple, engaged for the third time, plan to marry in 2026 after postponing a 2023 wedding.
In a lighter moment, Collins launched into a rant about air fryers, claiming the device left her struggling to breathe. 'The minute it went on, I felt like it sucked all the air from my kitchen. I couldn't get any oxygen. From that day I gave it away,' she said.
Collins famously left the regular I'm A Celebrity series after just 72 hours in 2014, but is now competing in the All Stars version, which premiered earlier this week.
