Eamonn Holmes Lost 3 Stone with Simple Juicing Habit Amid Health Struggles
Eamonn Holmes: How Juicing Helped Shed 3 Stone

GB News and television stalwart Eamonn Holmes has opened up about the remarkably straightforward method he used to shed a significant amount of weight, before confronting a series of debilitating health issues in recent years.

The Simple Change That Led to Major Weight Loss

In a candid 2021 interview, the broadcaster disclosed that he successfully lost three stone, equivalent to 19 kilograms, by incorporating fresh juices into his daily eating plan. Holmes, who turned 66 this year, made the admission alongside his then-wife Ruth Langsford as they discussed their slimming efforts.

He revealed that just nine months after making a New Year's resolution to get healthier, he became "hooked" on juicing. This new habit led to an initial loss of 10 pounds, or 4.5 kilograms. Holmes explained that juicing remained a cornerstone of his routine, often replacing a full meal. "If I have lunch, I will have a juice for dinner," he observed at the time.

A Turn Towards Serious Health Challenges

However, this positive chapter in his wellness journey was followed by a period of significant difficulty. After separating from Langsford in 2024 following 14 years of marriage, the former This Morning host faced a cascade of health problems that have at times left him reliant on a wheelchair.

His struggles became particularly poignant when he was forced to rehome his rescue dog, Bella, due to being unable to care for her. In an emotional Instagram plea, Holmes stated, "Think about giving Bella a home. If I could walk and look after myself, she would be mine."

Reports indicate Holmes has battled severe health issues since around 2022, undergoing multiple operations. His medical history includes:

  • A double hip replacement
  • Treatment for shingles
  • Surgery for a slipped disc
  • Further spinal surgery

Reflecting on his hip operations, Holmes told The Telegraph that waiting was "the worst decision I ever made," and that having the procedure seven years ago at age 55 was "life-changing."

The Broader Trend of Juicing for Wellness

Holmes is not alone in turning to juicing for weight management. The practice has gained considerable traction on social media platforms like TikTok, where influencers promote specific blends for fat loss.

One popular creator, @myhealthandbeautyrecipes, advocates a drink made from three carrots and two oranges, claiming it can make belly fat "disappear rapidly" if consumed daily for a week. The recipe often includes ginger, praised for its ability to stimulate metabolism by up to 20%, increase fat burning, and reduce hunger.

Eamonn Holmes's story highlights a personal journey from finding a simple, effective solution for weight loss to navigating complex and ongoing health battles, underscoring the unpredictable nature of personal wellness.
