Traitors Winner Meryl Williams Reveals Cosmetic Surgery After Years of Abuse

Meryl Williams, the 28-year-old winner of the first series of the BBC's 'The Traitors', has revealed she spent part of her prize money on a forehead reduction and breast augmentation to address her 'biggest insecurities'. Williams, who was born with achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, shared the £101,000 prize pot with fellow winners Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski.

Last year, Williams disclosed that she had been regularly targeted by bullies due to her appearance. In one incident, she was forced to hide in a train toilet after four teenagers hurled insults at her, calling her a 'midget' and laughing at her. She urged people to 'be nicer and kinder' to those who are different or have a disability.

Williams underwent a forehead reduction surgery, sharing photos of the procedure on social media. Dr Greg Bran from the GBA London clinic performed the surgery, cutting along her hairline to remove extra skin. She also had a breast augmentation and uplift, having had a reduction as a teenager. Williams told The Sun she wanted to 'finally feel comfortable and proportionate in my own body' and that she is 'not a child and I want to feel sexy'.

Williams originally signed up for 'The Traitors' to raise awareness of her condition. She said on 'Good Morning Britain' that she wanted to show she could do the same challenges as everyone else. Despite the surgeries, she insisted she 'loved her body' and embraced her condition, stating the procedures were for her confidence.
