Jason Manford Shares Defiant Health Update Ahead of Ankle Surgery

Comedian Jason Manford, 40, has posted a defiant health update from his hospital bed as he prepared to undergo ankle surgery. The stand-up star shared a selfie on Twitter, showing him watching his own gameshow Unbeatable on BBC One while waiting for the operation.

In the post to his 377,000 followers, Manford described the moment as “surreal” and joked about the doctors using a marker pen to label his ankles. He wrote: “Always a worry when they’ve gotta use a sharpie so they know which one to do! I’m having both. I almost asked him to write ‘not these’ on my knees.”

When a fan asked if he would be able to walk after the procedure, Manford replied: “No walking for a little bit, don’t think I’ll make SoccerAid this year!” The update prompted an outpouring of well-wishes from followers, with one writing: “Hope all goes well and wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Manford also recently appeared on Dave Berry’s Dadpod podcast, where he discussed a parenting moment involving his daughter and their cleaner. He recalled how his seven-year-old daughter suggested the cleaner would make her bed, which left him “absolutely nuts”.
