WWE legend Hulk Hogan has been hospitalised following an adverse reaction to major surgery, his longtime friend Eric Bischoff confirmed. The 71-year-old wrestler, whose real name is Terry Bollea, underwent cervical surgery and is now recovering in hospital.
Bischoff, a former WCW executive, stated: “Hulk Hogan had a very successful cervical surgery and is experiencing some adverse reaction. He’s doing well and should be home later today. Doctors are expecting a full recovery.”
The update follows alarming claims by former friend Bubba the Love Sponge, who said on his YouTube channel that Hogan was on his “deathbed” and family had been called to say their goodbyes due to heart failure. However, those close to Hogan have dismissed these rumours, insisting he is not in critical condition.
Cervical surgery typically addresses neck issues such as pain, nerve compression, or structural problems—likely lingering effects from Hogan’s wrestling career. Risks include infection, bleeding, and nerve damage.
Bubba, who was sued by Hogan over a leaked sex tape, has not reconciled with the wrestler since the 2018 settlement. Hogan and Bischoff recently announced a new wrestling venture, the Real American Freestyle Wrestling League.
