Soap Legend Marcy Walker Pleads for Help in Health Battle

Soap legend Marcy Walker is urgently seeking financial support as she battles a serious health issue. The 64-year-old Emmy-winning actress, best known for playing Eden Capwell on Santa Barbara and Liza Colby on All My Children, has not revealed her condition but faces mounting medical expenses.

Fans Set Up GoFundMe

A GoFundMe campaign, created by two of her fans, has raised $13,867 of a $15,000 target as of writing, with 149 donations. The page states that financial help is "urgently needed" and that all funds will go directly to Walker to cover essential medical expenses.

"Today, Marcy needs our help," the campaign reads. "While she has spent years giving her time, energy, and heart to others - both as an actress and later through her dedicated ministry and community work - she is currently navigating an ongoing health issue where financial support is urgently needed."

Career Shift and Recent Reunion

After leaving her role as Liza in 2005, Walker walked away from Hollywood and accepted a position in Christian ministry in Huntersville, North Carolina. She has since worked in various churches but remains beloved by fans. She recently participated in a livestream reunion with co-star A Martinez, who played her love interest Cruz Castillo on Santa Barbara.

The June 7 reunion event also raised funds for her medical expenses. In a video on Instagram, Martinez explained why fans were charged. "Some folks have expressed disappointment over the cost. Now, out of respect for my partner's privacy, I did not speak to the reasons for the fee when first I posted," he said.

"The fact is, Marcy has been ill and is working hard to get well, and in the process has come face to face with the financial challenges that so often plague those of us unlucky enough to need serious medical care in our country. She is in that need."

Impact and Community Support

Martinez added that the June 7 conversation would support their friend in a personal and memorable way. The GoFundMe organizers wrote: "We want to surround Marcy with the same light and security she gave to us for so many years."
