Katie Price has spoken candidly about ageing as she opened up about an 'awful' health battle that leaves her 'dripping.' Her remarks came to light in a recent interview with The Observer, in which she covered everything from her early career as a Page 3 glamour model to her whirlwind marriage to 'billionaire businessman' Lee Andrews.
Perimenopause and 'Foggy Brain'
The 48-year-old media personality, who has been married four times and has five children, confirmed that she was perimenopausal, which refers to the time period leading up to the menopause. Asked if she was perimenopausal, Katie told The Observer: 'Yes! The foggy brain, it's awful. I can't even remember my cats' names. And at night, you're not just sweating, you're dripping. It's horrible what us women go through. Periods slowing down.'
She added: 'On the outside, I don't look my age. I think age is just a number. It's how you feel, how you approach life. But my body obviously inside is...' At this point, Katie reportedly wrinkled her nose before declaring: 'Ageing.'
Marriage to Lee Andrews
The interview also touched on her recent marriage to Lee Andrews. It comes after photos emerged of Lee and Kate enjoying time together in a pool in Dubai after he was reportedly released from Al-Awir prison amid fraud allegations, which he has denied. Katie said: 'I know we're the most hated people... actually saying that, people love me as well.' Lee said: 'People love you, people hate me,' as Katie replied: 'They do hate you,' to which Lee said: 'They just don't know the story do they.'
Lee has said he would be willing to take a lie detector test live on TV, claiming that there is 'not one shred of evidence' to support claims made against him.
Journalist's Perspective
It comes after a journalist who has 'known and liked' Katie Price for nearly 20 years shared what she thinks is the truth behind her marriage. Clemmie Moodie said the swift nuptials were 'all so Katie Price.' She wrote in The Sun: 'Nine days later, she got engaged for the ninth time. She married the man in question, Lee Andrews, 24 hours later. It is all so Katie Price. This, after all, is a woman who loves love. She cannot help herself. Of all her vices - of which we all have many - being a love addict is surely her most endearing.'
Clemmie added: 'Sure, she doesn't always help herself, and from personal experience the Pricey may not always be right but she IS kind, loyal and, quite simply, desperate to be loved. Aren't we all, deep down?'
