Former Liverpool defender Glenn Hysen reveals Parkinson's diagnosis
The Swedish centre-back, who played for Liverpool from 1989 to 1992, helped the club win the First Division title in the 1989-90 season. Now aged 66, Hysen has shared that he is battling Parkinson's disease.
Speaking to Swedish magazine Hant, Hysen described his condition as a mild form of the illness. "I take medication 3-4 times a day with tablets. It's not dangerous, but you have to treat it," he said.
Hysen's condition manageable with medication
He added that the disease is not expected to cause significant deterioration of his body because his version can be controlled with medication. Hysen made 72 league appearances for Liverpool during his three-year stint at Anfield.
