Chris Kamara has shared some "good news" after opening up about his recent cancer scare. Posting on X on Friday (14 August), the sports commentator told fans: "[I] had some good news from @ProstateUK that blokes using the risk checker after my appeal in the paper last week, went up by a THIRD."
Encouraging Men to See Their Doctor
"They know from experience that this will prompt a number of men to see their doctor. Unfortunately, some will get a diagnosis - BUT thankfully early enough to save their lives."
Commending Chris on his willingness to speak out, fans flocked to the comments. "You're a legend Kammy and no doubt there will be men that will owe their lives to your appeal and appeals like this. Keep up the amazing work," wrote one.
Fans Praise His Advocacy
"Great work Kammy. Such an important message. The fact you spoke up could have saved lives. I'm going to be checked," tweeted a second. "Making a real difference, Chris," raved a third.

Raising Awareness for Prostate Cancer
Just last week, Chris told The Mirror that he would be taking part in the Great North Run with Ben Shephard and his son, Jack Shephard, on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK.
Spreading awareness for the disease, the football star said: "Any man would feel scared about the prospect of getting prostate cancer. I've been working with the charity for more than a decade, so I know that early diagnosis is absolutely key."
His Personal Experience
"A routine test I had two years ago flagged up a slightly PSA level raised level. That was a scary thing to hear, but thankfully, it turned out I didn't have prostate cancer. After consistent monitoring, my levels remain the same."
While Chris, 68, has assured fans that he is in good health, the Sky Sports star implored men to keep an eye on changes to their health, and to check in with their local GP.
