A sunny day at one of Britain's most popular seaside destinations turned to tragedy when emergency services were called to Bournemouth beach following a major medical incident.
A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene, while a teenage girl was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after both fell ill on the sandy shores.
Police Investigation Underway
Dorset Police have confirmed they are treating the incident as a suspected poisoning, though they remain open-minded about the exact cause. Detective Chief Superintendent Neil Corrigan stated: "We are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances that led to such a tragic conclusion."
Emergency services including paramedics, air ambulances, and police units swarmed the beach area near the pier shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, creating a scene of alarm for holidaymakers and locals enjoying the warm weather.

Eyewitnesses described seeing multiple air ambulances landing on the beach and extensive medical efforts to save the man's life. One visitor recounted: "We saw the air ambulance arrive and land right on the beach. There were so many emergency vehicles - it was clear something very serious had happened."
The beach remained cordoned off for several hours as forensic teams conducted their examination of the scene, while shocked onlookers watched the unfolding drama.
Ongoing Medical Concerns
The teenage girl, whose relationship to the deceased man hasn't been confirmed, was transported to Poole Hospital for emergency treatment. Medical authorities have confirmed she remains in a serious but stable condition.
