
The body of an 88-year-old British pensioner, who had been missing for a week, has been tragically discovered in a ravine in Spain. The elderly man, whose identity has not yet been officially released, vanished from his residence in the coastal town of Almuñécar, sparking a large-scale search operation.
Local authorities confirmed the heartbreaking find after days of intensive efforts involving police, firefighters, and volunteers. The search was concentrated in rugged terrain near the pensioner's home, where he was last seen.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil stated: "The body was located in a difficult-to-access area. Our thoughts are with the family during this incredibly difficult time."
The pensioner, described as a well-liked member of the expatriate community, had reportedly been in good health prior to his disappearance. Neighbours expressed shock at the tragic outcome, with one saying: "He was such a gentle soul. Everyone here is devastated."
