Robbie Williams fears weight loss jabs are making him blind

Pop icon Robbie Williams has issued a stark health warning, revealing he fears popular weight loss injections may be severely damaging his eyesight and potentially making him blind.

A Worrying Health Update

The 51-year-old singer disclosed that his vision has become increasingly blurry in recent months, a problem he directly attributes to his use of Mounjaro weight loss jabs. Williams explained that the issue has become so pronounced it now affects his performances on stage.

Robbie Williams first noticed something was seriously wrong when he attended an American football game and found he could no longer distinguish individual players on the field, describing them as mere shapes. He has since visited an optician and been prescribed new glasses, though he initially did not connect his deteriorating eyesight to the injections.

Struggling On Stage

The situation has created particular challenges during his live performances. Williams typically serenades a fan during his hit song 'She's The One', but now admits he can barely see the person he's performing for.

He revealed: "Basically, I was looking in the direction of these women looking up at me, having this experience that's quite obviously incredible to them, and little do they know I can't see them." The emotional moments he usually shares with audience members have been compromised by his rapidly deteriorating vision.

Scientific Context and Broader Concerns

Williams's concerns emerge alongside a US study that recently highlighted a potential link between Semaglutide-based drugs - the category that includes many weight loss injections - and a rare optic nerve condition that can lead to blindness.

Although scientists remain divided over how significant the risk might be, hundreds of reports have been logged in the UK referencing vision problems potentially connected to such medications.

Despite his vision worries, Williams has spoken openly about how the jab has eased his long-standing mental health struggles, describing the relief from constant mental anguish as transformative. He has also overhauled his lifestyle, incorporating daily workouts, stretching routines and strength training.

The former Take That star now wants to alert others to potential side effects and strongly encourages people to research properly before starting similar injections.
