Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis broke the news during the most recent episode of Good Morning Britain, accompanied by a breaking news banner.

Emotional Announcement

Susanna opened: "Jeremy Clarkson revealing that he has cancer in emotional scenes shown on the latest instalment of his series, Clarkson's Farm. The veteran broadcaster said he knew of his diagnosis back in May, saying it is aggressive but has been caught early."

Martin continued: "The TV star had teased that the latest episodes would be sombre on social media. It is the first time the diagnosis has been made public."

Susanna subsequently expressed her support for the broadcaster, stating: "We send our best wishes to Jeremy Clarkson." She continued, "As we've been discussing, a thousand people are diagnosed with cancer every day here in the UK. The reaction's always one of shock, and then the message is, if you catch it early, it can be very treatable."

Martin then said: "In most cases, the earlier you catch it, the better, which is why we should be taking this opportunity to reflect on what clinicians say, 'If you have any worries, if you have any concerns, you should be checking yourself and go and seek medical help.' Don't think it's nothing. It might be something and you should have it checked and you should have the peace of mind in knowing it's nothing."

Clarkson's Health Update

During his programme, Jeremy disclosed that part of his prostate had been surgically removed as part of his treatment. "I disappeared off the other week, and I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it's aggressive, but it's really early," he said. "I promise I'll be fine," he reassured Charlie and Kaleb, noting that he would be out of action for a little while.

On Tuesday (June 16) evening, several hours before the final two episodes of Clarkson's Farm were released, Jeremy posted a video on Instagram, warning fans that they would be a difficult watch. The fifth series of the popular show had previously featured the presenter discussing a heart procedure he underwent in October 2024.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am, while Clarkson's Farm is available to stream on Prime Video.
