The 45-year-old sports pioneer shared his health journey in a moving Instagram post, disclosing that doctors discovered the tumour after he experienced concerning symptoms including severe headaches and coordination difficulties.

Collins explained that medical professionals identified a rare type of brain tumour known as a suprasellar germinoma. This diagnosis came after extensive testing and consultation with specialists at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
'The diagnosis was a complete shock,' Collins wrote. 'I've always prided myself on my physical condition, so hearing I had a brain tumour was devastating news.'
Treatment and Recovery Progress
The basketball veteran has undergone an intensive treatment regimen including chemotherapy sessions. Recent scans have shown positive progress, with the tumour responding well to treatment.
Collins expressed immense gratitude for his medical team, stating: 'The care I've received has been extraordinary. We're taking this one day at a time, and I'm feeling optimistic about my recovery.'
