Influencer Lorna Luxe has revealed that she will become a widow in her 40s after her husband John Andrews was diagnosed with terminal adrenal cancer. The 43-year-old social media star, whose husband is 21 years her senior, said the couple are making the most of the time they have left together.
John, a former banker, was diagnosed in April 2023. His cancer went into remission in November 2023 but returned in May 2024 and has now spread to his brain. Before Christmas, he was rushed to hospital with organ failure after a chemotherapy complication and sepsis, and doctors told the family to prepare for the worst.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Lorna said: "It's been quite scary because we don't know how long we've got... Fundamentally, I’m probably going to be a widow at some point in my 40s and that’s a bit of a scary place to be for any woman." She added that the couple are not discussing funerals but have sorted out their finances.
Lorna and John, who live in the £2.5million Ghost House in Warwickshire, took on £300,000 of debt to kickstart her influencer career. She has reinvested £600,000 of profits from her L.A. Space brand and admits she is "basically skint". They decided not to have children, partly because of John's illness. Lorna said: "It would feel like a selfish move to have a baby... especially if I didn’t have John around."
Now commanding up to £80,000 per brand deal, Lorna is focusing on expanding into the beauty market while cherishing every moment with John. She said: "We're running at a million miles an hour at the minute. We know we’re on a timeline."
