Anastasia Katselas, a star of the Australian version of Gogglebox, has revealed she underwent emergency surgery after being diagnosed with cancer. The Melbourne-based television personality shared the news with her followers on Instagram, explaining that she was rushed to hospital for an emergency hysterectomy.
In a video posted to social media, Katselas said doctors discovered cancer in her uterus just days earlier, following concerns raised by a smear test. She urged women to attend regular cervical screenings, admitting she had neglected her own in recent years. 'I used to do them regularly and I think the last few years I didn't go,' she said.
Katselas, who has appeared on the show since 2015 alongside her best friend Faye, described the experience as a 'big scare' but expressed gratitude that the cancer was caught early. She is now recovering at home and awaiting further test results to confirm the cancer has not spread.
Fans have flooded her social media with messages of support, with many echoing her call for regular health checks. One wrote: 'Thank god they got it early. And you're recovering. How traumatic for you and the family.' Another added: 'Sending love and well wishes for a speedy recovery.'
