A single father from Norfolk, who recently battled bowel cancer, has won £1 million on the EuroMillions lottery and shared the emotional moment with his son. Paul Harvey, 51, of Attleborough, filmed the revelation, capturing the pair hugging and jumping around the kitchen.
Mr Harvey, a full-time dad, has endured two years of treatment for bowel cancer. He matched the unique raffle code in the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker draw on July 4, but only discovered the win a week later after receiving an email from the National Lottery.
He plans to treat his two teenage children to their first foreign holiday together in Greece, where he can speak the language fluently. Mr Harvey also intends to buy a second-hand Fiat 500 for his daughter, who is learning to drive, and to help both children as they finish their education.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr Harvey said: 'Life hasn’t always been easy, but the kids mean the world to me, and they always come first.' He added, 'We can afford our very own home, and I can finally have my own bedroom rather than sleeping downstairs.'
The former Cyprus resident now hopes to take his time and make wise decisions with his winnings, emphasizing the importance of providing for his family.
