Davina McCall has shared an emotional health update with fans, revealing she has finished her radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer. The 58-year-old TV presenter, best known for hosting Big Brother, took to Instagram to announce the milestone, admitting she felt more emotional than she anticipated.
In the video, McCall wore a leopard print cardigan over a black roll-neck jumper and spoke directly to the camera. She mused on National Quitters Day, saying: “It’s a bit weird having a National Quitters Day... We should have a ‘happy, congratulations on still going for it when everyone else is giving up day’.” She then directed followers to her podcast *Begin Again*, describing it as a source of inspiration.
McCall concluded: “I finished my radiotherapy today. And it was very, very emotional. Much more emotional than I thought it would be and I need a bit of positivity and brilliance.” She said she planned to watch Julia Bradbury on *Begin Again*.
The presenter underwent surgery in November to remove a lump from her breast that showed early signs of cancer. Although the operation was successful, she was advised to have preventative radiotherapy in January as an “insurance policy” to reduce the risk of recurrence. This health battle came less than a year after she had surgery to remove a benign brain tumour.
Fans rallied with support, with one writing: “Well done on completing your radiotherapy today. You’ve got this! Sending lots of love.” Another added: “Sending so much love, Davina. Let’s Begin Again - all together x.”
In December, McCall married hairdresser Michael Douglas in a ceremony with 11 guests. She has previously spoken about her gratitude for life, saying after her surgery: “I’m grateful for every minute... I love life.”
