Simple Avocado Hack Removes Pit Without a Knife

A viral video shows a simple method to remove an avocado pit without using a knife. The hack involves pressing the back of the avocado half to pop the pit out effortlessly.

American content creator Sidney Raz demonstrated the technique after seeing it shared by Australian cooking influencer Nat, known online as 'Nat's What I Reckon'. In the clip, Nat pressed the back of an avocado half with his finger, causing the pit to pop out.

Sidney, who had his stomach removed in 2025 after a cancer diagnosis, now eats avocados regularly for their healthy fats. He had been using a knife to remove pits but found the new method safer and easier.

In his video, Sidney cut an avocado in half, then pressed the back of the half containing the pit. Within a second, the pit popped out and landed in a bin. He said, 'No scary knives. That works.'

Viewers were impressed, with one commenting, 'Now that's a useful tip.' Another said, 'I wish I’d seen this before I spent several frustrating minutes trying to dig the pip out with a teaspoon.' However, some were unimpressed, with one asking, 'I don't see how this is better.'
